Today we commemorate the wrath and grace brought about by ST Yolanda. We continue to pray for those lives claimed by the strongest typhoon in the recorded history to make a landfall. We beseech the Lord of nature to accept the souls in heaven with a look of mercy. We pray that you may grant them entrance to your divine kingdom.
For us who survived, We continue to live worthy of this another life of grace.
We remember this day, the horror, the tremendous experience of being vulnerable to something stronger than us, the grief of losing someone, the thought of being so helpless as the typhoon leveled everything. Yes, We trembled.
But let us also remember that in the midst of this catastrophic event we learned how to be humble and accepted that we are really not invincible. We learned that we are small enough. Despite these, we are consoled as we mumbled our prayers that there is only One being powerful than nature, its Creator
Further, let us remember that when the creator gave us nature, we should be its caretaker, its stewards and not its despoilers.
Furthermore, let us also remember that unconquerable human spirit of perseverance and resiliency, of caring and of helping despite our own devastation and brokenness.
WE REMEMBER SO THAT WE MAY BELIEVE, SO THAT WE MAY CONTINUE TO ENDURE THE DAILY MISERIES THAT INUNDATE US.
IN COMMEMORATIONEM. AMEN.
